Is Symbian loosing Ground ?

I am working on Symbian for almost one year now, I have worked a little bit on J2ME as well. I still remember during my early days of symbian learning when I was having great difficulties in learning symbian(it's around feb'05) and I used to ask that is it fine if I work on j2me ? Though I havent' worked on j2me much but there is no doubt that workong on symbian is way much tougher than working on j2me. REASON ? Symbian has NO IDE which can help you in rapid development. I have seen people running in one forum and other(specially www.newlc.com) to get answers but there are very few who are in the position of giving solutions as compared to people putting questions. The programming is certainly tough in symbian. I still remember I was talking to a freind who is in finland and he told me that don't bet on Symbian. It may have no future ! I am not sure why he said that. There is one more guy at www.newlc.com, who had told me that it may be better to bet on j2me rather than Symbian.I will keep this discussion ON in the next posts...it's getting late..

Anyway a quick info:
Nokia had bought Symbian in Feb.'04 Here is the Press Release
